会议简介

    国际中国语言学会年会是一个具有世界性影响的国际学术会议,在过去二十多年的时间里,已先后在亚洲、美国和欧洲多个城市举办年会,吸引了很多对汉语语言学及中国境内语言具有兴趣的学者和学生参加会议。

会议主题

    IACL24的主题为“多元文化背景下的汉语教学与研究”

一、论文征集具体说明(之一):

    国际中国语言学会第24届年会(IACL-24)将于2016年7月17日-19日位于中国北京的北京语言大学召开,现向学界公开征集会议论文,提交的内容论文可以涉及汉语教学与研究以及其他中国语言的研究之任何一个侧面。每个发言时间共25分钟(包括15分钟报告和10分钟讨论)。每个参会者最多可以提交一篇独自写作的论文以及一篇与他人合作的论文。

摘要提交重要信息:

    1. 摘要限于一页A4纸编辑(四周边距1 inch),包括例句和参考文献选。

    2. 摘要可以用英语或汉语撰写;

       英文摘要请使用标准Times New Roman字体,12字号编辑;

       中文摘要请使用宋体小四号字编辑。

    3. 摘要请以两种版本形式同时提交,一份PDF版本,另一份DOC版本;

    4. 摘要以匿名形式提交,不过请在邮件中留下您的联系方式。

提要提交方式:

    1. 提要请以电子邮件的方式提交,寄送地址:iacl24@blcu.edu.cn

    2. 请于邮件标题处写上ABSTRACT,并在电子邮件中注明以下内容:姓名、职称、所属单位、 论文题目、所属领域、电子邮件地址

    3. 请用以下方式命名您的文件:

       独立写作的论文:姓_名.pdf;

       合写的论文:姓_名_co.pdf(仅列出第一作者)

       例:王小梅的个人论文提要命名为wang_xiaomei.pdf;与他人合写的论文为wang_xiaomei_co.pdf

注意:非会员必须在论文提要录用通知发出后30天内(即2016年3月29号前)加入国际中国语言学学会,否则会议宣读论文资格将被取消。

二、论文征集 (包含YSA奖、MJH奖、IRA奖)具体说明(之一):

1. 青年学者奖(YSA)

    “青年学者奖(YSA)”是IACL学会为奖掖青年学者而设置的一项创新性奖项,本届年会将循例举办论文竞赛。

    竞赛论文经IACL学会评审委员会匿名评审初选的入围者(最多5位,一般2-4位),可获得500美元内的旅途补助,并受邀参加当年会议宣读论文,按照固定程序参加决赛。若经过评审委员审议,无符合条件的论文,则没有受邀入选者。

被选出的最优秀者将在年会晚宴时获得荣誉证书。

申请资格:

    1.候选者在申请当年不超过35周岁、且职称在副教授以下(不包括副教授)

    2.曾在IACL往届年会上获得过此奖项者不得参加本次论文竞赛。

    3. 应为IACL会员。尚未成为IACL会员者应在收到入选通知书后30天内加入学会,否则将取消其参加资格。

论文要求:

    1. 提交论文全文,长度不得超过A4纸25页。

    2. 论文必须是原创性的,独立完成且未曾公开发表;曾经入围IACL往届年会论文决赛、但未获奖项者,符合第一项条件者,仍然可以参加本次论文竞赛,但不得提交与往届入围决赛论文相同的论文。

2. 桥本万太郎汉语历史音韵学奖(MJH)

    该奖项的年度奖金为500美金,由余霭芹教授捐赠,为纪念杰出的语言学家和汉学家桥本万太郎教授所设,藉以鼓励年轻的学者献身于汉语历史音韵学的研究。

    该奖评选与“青年学者奖”隶属同一程序,所有参选“青年学者奖”的论文中,凡属于汉语历史音韵学研究领域的,则自动参加MJH奖的评选。

论文要求:

    请于邮件标题处写上“MJH”。其他一切要求均与上面公布的YSA要求相同,请按其要求准备。请特别注意, MJH 奖只颁发给汉语历史音韵学领域的论文。

3. 跨学科研究奖(IRA)

    奖项的年度奖金为500美金,为表彰谢信一教授在本学会与中国语言学跨学科领域的卓越贡献而设立,藉以鼓励年轻的学者投身于跨学科的中国语言学研究。

    该奖评选与“青年学者奖”隶属同一程序,所有参选“青年学者奖”的论文中,凡属于跨学科中国语言学研究领域的,则自动参加IRA奖的评选。

论文要求:

    请于邮件标题处写上“IRA”。其他一切要求均与上面公布的YSA要求相同,请按其要求准备。请特别注意,IRA奖只颁发给跨学科中国语言学领域的论文。所谓跨学科研究,指的是接口研究(如语音-句法接口,句法语义接口, 形态句法接口等)结合历时和共时的方法,从不同框架(如形式主义,功能主义,类型学等)与各自的方法论相结合的研究,或是语言学和其他学科(如文学、社会学、人类学、心理学、计算机学等)相结合的研究。

Conference Description:

    The annual conference of the International Association of Chinese Linguistics (IACL) is an international conference, which has been held in Asia, Europe, and America over the past two decades. It has become one of the major conferences for scholars and students around the world who are interested in Chinese linguistics and related studies.

Theme of IACL-24: The theme of the IACL-24 is Chinese Language Teaching and Studies in the Multicultural Context

Part I: Call for papers (IACL-24)

    The 24th Annual Conference of the IACL (IACL-24th) will be held in July 17-19, 2016 at the Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing, China.  Abstracts are invited for talks on the fields of Chinese language teaching and studies as well as studies of languages in China. Each talk will be 15 minutes, followed by a 10-minute discussion. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author.

Abstract Submission Description:

1. Abstracts are limited to one page (using 1 inch margins on all sides), including examples and (selected) references.

2. Abstracts can be written in English or Chinese:

•         For English: Please use standard Times New Roman font, size 12 pt

•         For Chinese: Please use Song(宋体)font, size 12 pt

3. Abstracts should be sent as two copies, one in the form of a PDF and another in the form of DOC.

4. All non-standard fonts should be embedded in the document.

5. Abstracts should be anonymous, but please do write down your contact information in your email.

Submission Deadline: January 15th, 2016

Notification of Acceptance: February 29, 2016

Notes: Abstracts should be submitted no later than January 15, 2016. The result will be announced around February 29, 2016. (Non-IACL members must join IACL by March 29, 2016 to be eligible to present at the conference.)

Part II: Call for Papers (IACL competitions: YSA, MJH, IRA)

The Young Scholar Award (YSA)

    The YSA competition is an innovative attempt by the IACL to promote, recognize, and encourage scholarship by young scholars. It is held once a year in conjunction with the IACL annual conference.

    A maximum of 5 (normally 2-4) finalists will be selected, and each will be awarded a travel subsidy (of around $500) and invited to the IACL conference to give an oral presentation at a special session organized for this purpose, before a panel of judges chaired by the IACL President (the review committee of any given year may also recommend that no finalist be invited). The author of the best paper selected by the panel will be honored at the banquet of the annual conference and presented with an award certificate.

Eligibility

35 years of age or below as of the year of the conference;

Current rank below that of Associate Professor in the Chinese and American university systems, and below that of Senior Lecturer in the British system.

Previous award winners are not allowed to re-enter the competition.

IACL membership: Non-members must join the IACL within 30 days of notice of acceptance.

Submission Guidelines

Each participant is required to submit a full paper of not more than 25 pages (double-spaced) in length.

All submissions for the YSA competition must be original papers that have not been published or accepted for publication, nor presented at a major conference and to appear in its proceedings.

A paper submitted to a previous IACL conference cannot be resubmitted.

Please submit (1) the abstract, (2) the full paper directly to the conference email address (iacl24@blcu.edu.cn), and include the word YSA in the subject line of the submission email.

In the body of the email message, please include:

  paper title,

  subcategory (e.g., syntax, phonology, Sino-Korean linguistics)

  author’s name,

  author’s age as of 2016,

  affiliation and academic rank, and

  email address.

Submission Deadline

The abstract and the full paper should be submitted no later than January 15, 2016. The results of acceptance will be announced around February 29, 2016. Those who are selected as finalists for IACL competitions must submit proof of their age and rank to be included in the program.

Mantaro J. Hashimoto (MJH) Award for Chinese Historical Phonology

This new award is an annual prize in the amount of US $500, donated by Professor Anne Yue in memory of the eminent linguist and Sinologist, Professor Mantaro J. Hashimoto. It is offered as an encouragement to young scholars who wish to devote themselves to the study of Chinese historical phonology, a field in which Professor Hashimoto was especially interested and to which he made numerous important contributions.

The prize will be administered as part of the Young Scholar Award process. All YSA papers submitted in the field of Chinese historical phonology will automatically be concurrently considered for the MJH Award.

Submission Guidelines

    Include “MJH” in the subject line of the submission email. Applicants should follow the published YSA guidelines and the above deadline in preparing their submissions. All regulations, restrictions, selection criteria, and current judging standards in the YSA process will apply to papers considered for the MJH Award, with the exception that MJH submissions must deal specifically with the area of historical phonology.

The Interdisciplinary Research Award (IRA)

    This award is an annual prize in the amount of US $500, established in the honor of Professor Hsin-I Hsieh for his immense contributions to the IACL and to the field of Chinese Linguistics. The award is offered as a token of encouragement to young scholars who wish to devote themselves to interdisciplinary studies in Chinese linguistics. The prize will be administered as part of the Young Scholar Award (YSA) process. All papers with an interdisciplinary approach submitted for YSA will automatically be concurrently considered for this Interdisciplinary Research Award.

Submission Guidelines

    Include “IRA” in the subject line of the submission email.

    Applicants should follow the published YSA guidelines and the above deadline in preparing their submissions. All regulations, restrictions, and selection criteria adopted in the YSA process will apply to papers considered for the Interdisciplinary Research Award, with the exception that these submissions must have an interdisciplinary focus, which includes interface studies (e.g., phonology-syntax, morpho-syntax, syntax-semantics.), studies which combine diachronic and synchronic approaches, those that combine methodologies from different frameworks (e.g., formal, functional, typological), or those that combine linguistics and other disciplines (e.g., literature, anthropology, sociology, psychology, computer science).
